Mr Vegas mines this same vein in a report on the current state of dancehall music an' stage shows, posted on his MySpace blog, January 6th, 2010. Here are his comments unda the heading Stage Show Gone Bad:I have been to a few shows over the holidays and I realize that these “now a day” artists that say they running the place is a bunch of waste of time and peoples money. If you take away the war from these artist them nuh good not even near good. If they not throwing words at each other on stage they can't entertain a crowd for 15 minutes, I am back stage like, what the fu.k is that? What has the music gone to?A serious ting dat, time fee bridge deh ol' time vibez with a new sound that can carry deh swing. Trust me after the mc call these now a days artist name and the crowd roar and they run out with the first two songs that’s it. Everything is a sleep walk to the end of the performance, they do not have what it takes to hold a crowd attention them performance lame as a duck.
I remember when I was growing up and if you get a chance to see a show live or a video of the show, Tiger, Admiral Bailey, Stitchie, Papa San, then to Ninja, Shabba, Buju, & Beenie (before him start gi weh him ting and forgot he is the king), had the crowd eating out of their hands. From start to finish all when the come off people asking for more, now the people dem just stand up a look like, did I pay for this shit?

Wicked remix from the Russian Federation's Knut Posse - straight outta Viborg- Yah! I came across these guys a couple a years ago when they released an amazing remix of Collie Buddz' Come Around over Ricky and Bunny's Bushweed Corntrash. They have since released two other seven inch singles, including a hottahot version of Richie Spice's Earth A Run Red with Capleton and Bounty Killa, and Sizzla over Alton Ellis' Too Late (To Turn Back Now). 
Alberto Dascola AKA Puppa Albo or Alborosie has been makin' waves dropping a flurry of high quality 7" singles on the Forward Recordings label outta JA's Tuff Gong Studios. The sicilian born DJ / Musician / Producer has consciously decided to allow for a groundswell to promote and establish himself outta JA. His promotions start from what he terms his 'roots', releasing his album in Jamaica from the dances up. "I'm close to di people, if I'm doing it for di people, I'm not doing it for myself. I'm close to the inner-city communities. I want my music uplift di people. I want to really take it to the bottom, starting the promotion from the roots," Alborosie said.

Bustin' outta Milan's hinterland is Babaman AKA Massimo Corrado - a conscious dancehall MC/vocalist. Dinamite is L'Uragano's second album, it came out earlier this year. Delroy "Junior" Reid treated Toronto fans to a free outdoor concert, as part of the Luminato Festival, on June 14th. It was a wicked show, Junior was riding classic riddims backed by a local band- with only one hour of practice they were well hot!! Highlights were an up tempo Golden Hen Riddim - Babylon Release The Chain- (boom tune!) a killa medley on the Intercom Riddim- with Barrington Levy's Black Rose, Dennis Brown's Revolution, finishing up with the World Jam Riddim- Ini Kamoze's World A Music - out in the streets they call it... and the crowd shouted MURDER, as they shut down the sound for the night. Junior left the audience wanting more as he let out the first line of Boom Shack-A-Lack, before exiting the stage. Yes Junior - nice one - be sure to come back soon! Joel Murray AKA Positive is dancehall's newest voice. Hailing from Trinidad & Tobago, this 21 year old has already hit the top of the charts in Trinidad with his track Never Let Go. His sweet vocal styles are like a mash of Gyptian, I-Wayne and Nanko - but he definitely exhibits his own fresh style. Check his Myspace page for more tracks and info. This a one well Positive!
After last year's big tune Lean With It on the Taxi label's Darker Shade Of Black Riddim, dancehall's favorite sing jay has returned with another steamy single, Mus Come a Road. This new song, which has been boiling on the underground dancehall circuit, is sure to dash up the charts. Produced by Rellee of "Raging Bull" fame and penned by Clifford Smith AKA Mr. Vegas, Mus Come a Road will surely set the summer on fire. When the pulsating beat drops for Mus Come a Road, a sense of nostalgia evokes, as the song is built on Barrington Levy's 1982 smash Prison Oval Rock. Vegas' millennium version of the cult classic thrives with a Barrington Levy sample, which is looped through out the song. The original cut evolved from dances in Spanish Town that were held near a prison. Barrington Levy, clearly Vegas' favorite singer, vividly described the whole era in his hit. Moreover, Vegas unleashes a modern day twist with Mus Come a Road.
On Mus Come a Road, Mr. Vegas' passionately croons of the injustice of criminal justice. "There are some people behind bars who have been charged for a crime that is not as bad as the people who are in jail for murder, and the murders sometimes get out before them," says Mr. Vegas earnestly. "This song is for the people who have experienced that."
